The Host

 

          Steve Gedies has a passion for paddling and living out loud. He is a carpenter by trade who likes to “build stuff”.  His calling is to teach and his vocation to help people find their way.  Steve is a cancer survivor. As part of his own healing and the healing of others, Steve speaks to audiences with a very reflective message that is both motivational and inspiring.  It is entitled ‘Shaping a Sense of Self’ that discusses the importance of awareness, acceptance, reality, and trust. Steve is married with three boys.  He and his family reside on a small acreage in Thamesford.

        Philip J.A.F. Aziz  inspired the design of the logo for Paddle for Life and his Foundation supports those who are survivors.  He was an internationally acclaimed Canadian master artist (painter, sculptor, designer of buildings, jewelled metal works, chapels, altarpieces, chalices and crosses) who has been featured in the world's and Canada's book of Who's Who.  Aziz lived in London, Ontario, Canada and was of Lebanese, Greek Orthodox descent.  Phil passed away in September of 2009 at age 86 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
